From Tokyo to America. Authentic Matcha Cafe.
It all started in 2001 with a single matcha cafe in Tokyo. Over the years, nana’s green tea grew into the No. 1 matcha cafe brand in Japan, with more than 60 locations across Japan. Now the tradition continues internationally, with our idyllic modern cafes expanding across America. We aim to add moments of peace and joy to American life with a new, authentic taste of Japanese matcha culture.
Crafted in Japan
Our teas are sourced directly from Yamamasa Koyamaen in Uji, Kyoto—an esteemed tea merchant founded in the 1600s—as well as from other trusted tea merchants and producers across Japan. Working with long-standing partners we have collaborated with since the founding of nana’s green tea, we ensure that every matcha and Japanese tea served in America delivers the same authentic quality found in Japan.
A Modern-Day Teahouse
Our cafes have reimagined the ancient practice of chanyou (the Japanese tea ceremony) for contemporary life. They aren’t just spaces for exceptional matcha, hojicha, and more. They’re havens for work, relaxation and connection.
Omotenashi, in Action
In Japan, it translates to the spirit of wholehearted hospitality. At nana’s green tea, it means taking extra thoughtful steps—or hitotema—in our products, our services, and our spaces to delight every guest. And while it may be hard to explain, once you experience it, you’ll understand immediately.
